What a real prep looks like

Most of the difference between a paint job that lasts eight years and one that lasts three happens before a single gallon is opened. Walls get washed. Exterior stucco on a one-story house is typically three to four days including the wash and prep, and that assumes Florida gives us a few dry afternoons in a row.

What paint do you use?

Whatever holds up. For Florida exteriors that means a quality 100 percent acrylic with real UV and mildew resistance, not the builder-grade material that was on the house when it was new. Interiors get a washable finish, because a house with tile floors and kids shows everything. Do I have to move all my furniture?

No. Move what is precious to you and Noah handles the rest, sliding it to the center and covering it. Same with your floors.

Can you paint my kitchen cabinets instead of replacing them?

Usually yes, and it is a fraction of the cost of new cabinets. It works best when the boxes and doors are solid and you just hate the color. It works poorly on damaged thermofoil or particleboard doors that are already delaminating. Noah will tell you honestly which one you have.

Do you paint lanai ceilings?

Yes. Painting a lanai or covered patio ceiling and its beams is standard handyman work. What he cannot do is anything to the screen enclosure or pool cage itself, which requires a license in Pasco County.

Do you paint the outside of a house in the summer?

Carefully. Summer in Pasco means a storm most afternoons, so exterior work gets scheduled around the forecast and around the wall that is in shade. It is very doable, it just takes planning instead of pretending the weather is not happening.
