Big lots, big trees, and a fifteen minute drive

Odessa is the smallest community Noah serves, around 8,000 people, and the most affluent. It is also the one where “the house next door” might be a quarter mile away.

Like Lutz, Odessa straddles two counties, mostly Pasco with a portion in Hillsborough along the Van Dyke Road and Gunn Highway corridors. It sits in ZIP 33556, which is also indexed as Keystone.

The name comes from the 1880s and a Russian immigrant named Peter Demens, who developed the area through the Orange Belt Railway. He is the same man who named St. Petersburg. A sawmill ran here until it burned in 1922. Odessa borders the Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Preserve, more than 8,300 acres of it, and Lake Rogers Conservation Park.

The neighborhoods

Keystone is the premium submarket: lakefront, multi-acre lots, equestrian estates, and one of the last places within thirty minutes of Tampa where you can legitimately keep horses. Steeplechase runs two-acre-plus homesites with custom builds. Van Dyke Farms is an established 1990s HOA community with no CDD. Starkey Ranch is the newer master-planned entry, mixed-use, townhomes and single family. Also Keystone Reserve and Asturia.

Practically, Odessa splits into two kinds of work: custom estate homes where the standard is high and the details matter, and 1990s HOA houses that are due for their first real refresh.

Do you come out to Keystone?

Yes. Keystone and Odessa are about eight miles from Land O’ Lakes, roughly fifteen minutes on SR 54.

These are bigger houses. Is that a problem for a one-man operation?

Not for the work Noah does. A larger house means a longer schedule, not a different scope, and he will give you a realistic timeline instead of a flattering one. Where a job genuinely needs more hands or a licensed trade, he says so up front.

Can you work around horses and livestock?

Yes. Just tell him what needs to stay closed, quiet or clear, and he will plan around it.

Do you do exterior painting on a two-story custom home?

One and two-story residential exterior painting is fine. Anything above three stories, and any roof coating or roof cleaning, is out of scope, the latter because roofing is a licensed trade in Florida.
